Our standard
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA across the site, and we check new pages against it before they go live.
What we've done
- Motion is optional. The animated night sky is purely decorative. If your system is set to reduce motion, the sky holds still and every other animation on the site stops.
- Keyboard friendly. Everything works with a keyboard, focus is always visible, and a “Skip to content” link is the first thing on every page.
- Structured for assistive technology. Pages use semantic landmarks and headings, decorative elements are hidden from screen readers, and the status dashboard announces changes as they happen.
- Readable. Text meets WCAG AA contrast ratios against the dark background and reflows cleanly when you zoom to 200% or more.
- No information by colour alone. Every status indicator also has a text label.
- Print ready. Pages print in dark ink on white paper.
Known limitations
Incident descriptions on the status dashboard come directly from Microsoft, and we can't guarantee their wording or structure. If anything there is unclear, we're happy to explain it.
